Cetacean poster education series

Whale mural painted on a wooden pier over water

A series of educational posters made for a marine research station on Samos, where the brief was simple and the problem was not: help visitors care about animals most of them will never see. Each poster pairs one cetacean with one idea — how fin whales feed, why dolphins strand, what noise does underwater — set in careful information hierarchies rather than dramatic photography.

Making scale legible

The hardest part was scale. A blue whale is an abstraction until you stand it next to a bus, a diver, a ferry. Most of the design time went into finding comparisons that felt honest rather than sensational, and into typography quiet enough to let the animals do the talking.
